The European Commission has once again ranked Malta among the top 5 European Union Member States, according to the latest Competitiveness scoreboard published on Thursday 29th September 2016.
In particular, Commissioner for the Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs Ezbieta Bienkowska noted how Malta ranked with the top 5 Member States in:

  1. Greenhouse gas emissions in manufacturing and construction;
  2. Total Factor Productivity;
  3. Intra EU trade services; and
  4. Foreign Direct Investment.

Malta’s ranking by the Commission ties in with recent ratings received by a number of international credit rating agencies. In particular, in the beginning of September, Moody’s forecasted a 3.7% growth for the Maltese economy while affirming its A3 rating and a stable outlook.
